Jedan antropolog je predložio igru sa decom u jednom afričkom plemenu. Stavio je korpu punu voća pored drveta i rekao da prvo dete koje dođe do nje, osvaja sve. Kada im je rekao da potrče, oni su se uhvatili za ruke i potrčali zajedno. Onda su svi zajedno i seli i uživali u poslasticama iz korpe. Kada ih je pitao zašto su svi trčali zajedno, kada je jedan mogao da osvoji sve za sebe, odgovorili su mu: „UBUNTU, kako će jedan od nas biti srećan, ako su svi ostali tužni?“ „UBUNTU“, u njihovoj kulturi znači: „Ja sam, zato što smo mi“ ili što mi kažemo: „Svi za jednog, jedan za sve.“
